You’ve been through a lot. Trauma is not defined by me, it’s defined by you. It can be anything that has been a deeply distressing experience. Maybe you can’t stop thinking about what happened. Maybe you’re feeling anxious, sad, angry, numb or distant from your friends or family members, or maybe you’re experiencing intrusive thoughts, nightmares, or flashbacks. Walking through the door is a courageous first step! I do not utilize interns in my practice. You will work with me, and I will walk with you, as you begin to tell me your story, and explore all of the factors that are impacting your life in a confidential and supportive environment, to achieve personal growth and well-being.

Have you witnessed or experienced abuse, had a vehicle accident, experienced a natural disaster, been in combat or experienced any situation that has overwhelmed your ability to cope? The goal of trauma counseling is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can process these traumatic experiences, reduce symptoms of trauma, and work towards recovery and healing.
I am especially passionate about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am both trained and certified to provide this type of therapy. EMDR is a psychotherapy approach designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories and is increasingly used to treat anxiety and depression.
